Dear Sirs,

Sub: Participation at 35th edition of EXPOCOMER 2017, from 22nd to 25th March 2017, Panama City & subsequent BSMs in the LAC region.

We have pleasure in informing you that the Council is participating at 35th edition of EXPOCOMER, Panama City, scheduled to be held from 22nd to 25th March 2017, subject to adequate response from members, and allotment of space by the organizers. Council is also organising Buyer-Seller Meets (BSMs) in one or two LAC Countries. Considering the potential and logistics, we have tentatively proposed BSM in Colombia-Bogota and/or Ecuador-Guayaquil, since these are neighboring countries of Panama, and have a good export potential for plastic items. The BSM is proposed between 27th to 30th March, 2017, subject to confirmation of our concerned Missions, and adequate response from members.

It may not be out of place to mention that global import of plastics by Colombia and Ecuador stood at USD 2.38 billion & USD 1.01 billion in 2015 (ITC(HS) Chapter – 39 only) & India’s share is only about 1.52% & 0.16% respectively.

EXPOCOMER is Latin America's one of the biggest and popular consumer trade show, which displays a wide range of products including Household goods, furniture, office equipment and supplies, educational items, textile & fashion, Food & Beverages, Medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment, etc. Last year about 850 exhibitors from 37 countries had displayed their products at this event, which was visited by about 25000 visitors out of which 11000 were pre-registered visitors.
